Beginning of Concrete - Concrete Material Properties

Concrete Material Properties

Concrete water is a mixture of Cement and Aggregate
what we call concrete
Concrete is homogenous minor

Type Of Concrete

  1. Cement concrete
  2. Lime concrete
  3. Groupsum concrete
  4. Mud concrete

On The Basis Of Propotion

  • M5.  - 1:6:12
  • M7.5.- 1:4:8
  • M15-.  1:3:6
  • M20- 1:1.5:3
  • M25- 1:1:2
  • Role of aggregate
  • First fine aggregate and second coarse aggregate

Role Of Aggregate In Concret

  1. Provides strength to concretet
  2.  It increasese volume of concrete
  3. The volume of aggregate in concrete is 70 to 80 percent
  4. It makes concrete an economy
  5. Aggregate is disabled
  6. It reduces shrinkage

Aggregate can be active silica which react with alkaline present in cement, this action is called alkaline aggregate reaction (AAR) or alkynes silica reaction (ASR).

AAR or ASR reduces the Strength and Durability of Concrete

Classification Of Aggregate

  • Natural Aggregate
  • As-Grewal stone blast sand
  • Artificial aggregate
  • As-breakfast salt
  • surkhi bloated
  • clay blast fumas clay

On The Basis Of Size

  1. Coarse aggregate
  2. Its sape 4.75 mm.retained
  3. EX- gravel stone blast
  4. fine aggregate- 4.75mm pass
  5. Ex- sand 0.075mm to 4.75mm

On the Basis Of Shape

  • Rounded Aggregate
  • The volume of voids in it is 32 to 33 percent.
  • It requires less water cement
  • Its specific surface area is minimum
  • The concrete made by it has good workability.
  • Interlocking is not good in rounded aggregate, so it is not used to make high strength concrete.
  • rounded aggregate is not useful for flexural member
  • The bonds are not strong due to poor interlocking.

Angular Aggregate

The amount of voids in it is between 38 to 45 percent.
The specific surface area of angular aggregate is more, through this, more water cement paste will be required to make concrete.

The workability of the concrete made by it decreases
Its interlocking is good and it is used in making high strength concrete.
It can also be used to celebrate Flexural member.

Concrete Slumb Testing

Concrete Slumb Testing

Slump testing cone ki madad se Kiya jata hai cone ka height
300 mm hota hai bottom ka Dia 200mm  hota  hai our top ka Dia 100mm  hota hai our rode ka Dia 16mm hota hai
Concrete ki testing ke liye cone main 4 layer mein concrete bharte Hain pratyek laya ka thickness 75 mm rakhte Hain ek laya bharane ke bad 25 se 28 stock maarte Hain yerode ki madad se maarte Hain 4 layer pura hone ke bad cone Ko nikalte hai aur slumb ka measurement kar lete hain
Cubic test ke liye cone me 3 layer bharte Hain

  • Slumb testing  I S - 456-2000 ke anusar bade concrete karyon mein slumb ka measurement 24 se 30mm hona chahiye our canal lining ke liye slumb 75 se 100 mm hona chahiye.
  • Pump concrete ke liye slumb testing 100 se 150 hona chahiye.

Typeses Of Slumb

Slumb test 4 types ka hota hai

  • True slumb- Ismein concrete acche se mix hota hai
  • Colaps slumb
  • Ismein burning acche se nahin hota hai
  • Zero is slumb me cone ke shape ka hi slumb ban jata hai
  • Shear slumb - Ismein burning acche se nahin hota hai
